  • Mixing Bowls. A single set of bowls you'll require for mixing.

Ingredients

  • 50 grams all-purpose flour
  • 25 grams sugar
  • 30 grams baking powder
  • 10 grams baking soda
  • 5 grams kosher salt
  • 250 grams milk
  • 2 large egg
  • 25 grams canola oil
  • 10 grams pure vanilla extract
  • Butter or pure maple syrup or other toppings, for serving

Instructions

  • Adjust oven rack to middle position and warm to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep a sizable pan or baking sheet handy. Over medium heat, preheat a large nonstick skillet or griddle.
  • Mix jointly the flour, sugar, cake flour, and salt in a medium-sized mixing bowl.
  • Mix the milk, egg, oil from canola seeds, and vanilla in a medium-sized mixing bowl or a sizable measuring cup.
  • To the dry mixture, add the egg blend all at once. Using a fork, stir just until moistened.

Why You’ll Love Fluffy Pancakes Recipe

  • A Weekend Tradition. Weekend breakfasts were an important event for me, my dad, and my sisters. My dad made classic fluffy pancakes most of the time, but we occasionally got “fancy” with our pancakes. My dad passed away unexpectedly at the age of 45, and making pancakes helps me feel closer to him.
  • Everyday Ingredients. The simple, fluffy pancake recipe that my dad makes comes straight from an outdated, well-worn edition of the Better Homes and Gardens Recipe Book (the pancake page was extremely crusty). The staple ingredients we always had on hand were flour, milk, eggs, baking soda and powder, sugar, and a tiny bit of canola oil. Buttermilk is not required!
  • Quick and Easy. Pancakes are much simpler than many other warm breakfast options, but they do require more time to prepare than simply pouring cereal from a box into a bowl. This recipe is ideal for cozy slippers and lazy weekends.

What is the difference between Dutch pancakes and fluffy pancakes?

Dutch pancakes, or “pannekoeken,” are thin, crepe-like, and baked in the oven with sweet or savory toppings, while fluffy pancakes are thick, light, and airy, cooked on a griddle, and typically served stacked with syrup and butter.

How to Make Fluffy Pancakes

Ingredients for fluffy pancake

  • Flour. These pancakes are made extra fluffy and light thanks to the all-purpose flour.
  • Sugar. To make a moist, sweet, and tender pancake
  • Baking Powder + Baking Soda. What makes a pancake rise and become fluffy? These are the two essential components. As a team, they keep the batter airy and light, which results in pancakes that are fluffier.
  • Milk. Pancakes are made fluffier by milk than by water. Milk produces a thicker batter because it is more dense than water. Additionally, the fat content of whole or low-fat milk contributes to the soft, fluffy texture. Searching for a substitute for dairy? For a natural flavor, I suggest cashew, oat, or almond milk as a substitute. You can alternatively use a can of light milk from coconuts.
  • Egg. provides structure to this recipe for fluffy pancakes. The yolk is also in charge of the additional color and richness.
  • Canola Oil. keeps the pancakes from drying out.
  • Vanilla. The key to a really good pancake, in my opinion. They have an especially comforting, cozy taste thanks to a hint of vanilla.

Step by Step Instructions

  • Combine. Mix together the dry ingredients.
  • Whisk. In a different container, mix the wet ingredients together.
  • Finish the Batter. Mix the flour mixture with the moist components.
  • Cook. On a nonstick pan or griddle that has been preheated, pour approximately fifty grams of batter. It’s time to flip when bubbles appear in the batter and the borders are done. Continue until all of the batter is gone. ENJOY!
